ডা. নরেন্দ্র দাভোলকার ছিলেন কুসংস্কার বিরোধী আন্দোলনের প্রতি নিবেদিত প্রাণ। মহারাষ্ট্রে কুসংস্কার বিরোধী আইন প্রণয়নের দাবির স্বপক্ষে আন্দোলন সংগঠিত করার 'অপরাধে' ধর্মীয় মৌলবাদীদের হাতে ২০১৩ সালের ২০ আগষ্ট খুন হন তিনি। ডা. নরেন্দ্র দাভোলকার যেমন ছিলেন একজন দরদী চিকিৎসক, পাশাপাশি ছিলেন যুক্তিবাদী কুসংস্কার বিরোধী আন্দোলনের অন্যতম নেতা। এছাড়াও ডা. দাভোলকার ছিলেন মহারাষ্ট্র অন্ধশ্রদ্ধা নির্মূলন সমিতির একজন প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সভাপতি। শহীদ ডা. নরেন্দ্র দাভোলকারের প্রয়াণ দিবসের এই দিনটিতেই শুরু হলো আমাদের পথচলা। সাথি বন্ধুদের আন্তরিক নিষ্ঠায় গত তিনমাস ধরে পারস্পরিক আলোচনা, সভা, ইত্যাদির মধ্য দিয়ে আমাদের এই সংগঠনের উদ্দেশ্য ও লক্ষ্য, এবং কর্মসূচি নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়। সংগঠনের উদ্দেশ্য, লক্ষ্য এবং কর্মসূচি নিয়ে আলোচনায় একাধিক বার বসার পর আমরা আমাদের ভাবনাচিন্তাগুলোকে একত্রিত করে সকল সাথি বন্ধুদের সামনে তুলে ধরতে পেরেছি। গত ২০ আগষ্ট, ২০২৩ শহীদ ডা. নরেন্দ্র দাভোলকারকে স্মরণ করে নদীয়ার চাকদহে দুর্গানগর বিপিন বিহারী বিদ্যাপীঠ (উঃমাঃ) স্কুলে আমাদের রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন জেলা থেকে আগত সাথি বন্ধুদের উপস্থিতিতে সারাদিন ব্যাপি এক সাধারণ সভার মধ্য দিয়ে আত্মপ্রকাশ হলো 'সারা ভারত বিজ্ঞান ও যুক্তিবাদী সংস্থা'-র। ইংরেজি নাম All India Science & Rationalist Organisation (AISRO)। এই সংগঠনের আত্মপ্রকাশ আমাদের রাজ্যে হলেও আমাদের দুঃসাহস ও দৃঢ়প্রত্যয়ে ভর করে সকল সাথি বন্ধুদের আন্তরিক প্রচেষ্টা এবং সহযোগিতায় আমাদের সুনির্দিষ্ট লক্ষ্যে ঠিক পৌঁছোতে পারবো এবং দেশব্যাপী বিজ্ঞান আন্দোলনের শরিক হতে পারব, এই আশা। এই সংগঠন সকল বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক ও মুক্তচিন্তক বন্ধুদেরও। সকলের সহযোগিতা ও সুপরামর্শ আমরা বিনীতভাবে প্রত্যাশা করছি।
Dr. Narendra Dabholkar was a dedicated soldier of anti-superstition movement. He was assassinated by
religious fundamentalists on 20 August 2013 for the 'crime' of organizing a movement in favour of
implementing Anti-Superstition Act in Maharashtra. Dr. Dabholkar was a compassionate physician as well as
one of the leaders of the rational anti-superstition movement. Also he was a founder president of the
'Maharashtra Andhasraddha Nirmulan Samiti'. On this very day of his death anniversary, we started our
journey. Over the last three months we went through sincere mutual discussions regarding the aims,
objectives and programmes of our organisation. After sitting several times to discuss about the aims,
objectives and programmes of our organisation, we have put our ideas and thoughts together. We, friends from
different districts of our state, gathered in a General Meeting on 20 August 2023 at Chakdaha Durganagar
Bipin Behari Vidyapith (HS) in Nadia district. Remembering the martyr Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, we started the
journey of our organisation named 'All India Science and Rationalist Organisation' (AISRO). Although our
organization debuted in West Bengal, it is hoped that with the sincere efforts and cooperation of all our
friends, we will be able to reach our specific goals and be a part of the nationwide science and rational
movement. This organization is of all rationalist and free-thinking friends. We humbly expect everyone's
cooperation and advice.
